Beatrice Oster - PhD student

Since December 2025, I have been working as a PhD student and research assistant on the project ‘Social Psychological Processes in Civil Defence Situations’, where I am conducting a cross-cultural comparison of civil defence concepts in Germany, the Nordic countries and the Baltic states. My work focuses on the exploratory and cross-cultural analysis of how the German and Finnish populations deal with civil defence issues in times of dynamic security situations.

I obtained my Master’s degree in Social Sciences in 2025 from Ruhr University Bochum, specialising in “Globalisation, Transnationalisation and Governance”.
